Can Firmer Springs Be Installed On a Timbren 2,000LB HD Axle-Less Trailer Suspension?
Question:
I have the Timbren 2000# HD set up and given the amount of compression Im seeing on my springs I worry Im too close to the max weight rating when fully loaded on my offroad/overlanding trailer - especially if running my 30gal onboard water tank at full. Similar to the Q I was reading when submitting this - Id like to see if I can upgrade my springs from the 2000# to the 3500# since I believe the hardware is all the same between the 2kHD and 3.5kHD setups. Is that true and can I just order those 3500# springs from you all or do I need to go directly to Timbren?

I reached out to Timbren to verify the 2,000LB HD Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR2KHDS01 can be changed to stiffer springs. They said while they can provide you with stiffer springs it will not increase the weight capacity the axle system is able to support. So you may be best going with the 3,500LB Standard Duty # ASR3500S05 system. This will have the same size spindle so you will be able to transfer over any hubs or brakes from your current axles if you are needing the higher capacity for the trailer. The 3,500LB HD # ASR35HDS01 changes over to a larger spindle so you would need new hubs.
