How to Determine Correct Replacement Equalizer

Question:

I need to fix issues with my 2012 Keystone Cougar RLS fifth wheel. The truck I purchased to tow it is a 3/4 ton Ram 4x4. It sits high and when I hitch Reese gooseneck the front of the trailer sits higher than the rear. The difference in height is 2 1/2 inches. I think this kit RR23QX kit is going to help. Id also like to replace the equalizer at the same time. I adjusted the hitch to its highest setting and that helped but resulted in the gap between the truck rail and the underside of the RV to only 4 inches. First time out at a campsite and first time attempting to back the RV up didnt end up well. Damaged the truck pretty good. I need to lift the RV or lower the truck. Thanks for any assistance.

The Correct Track Trailer Alignment and Lift Kit - Tandem Axle # RR23QX will work to raise your trailer by 2-1/4 inches which will help with your clearance issues. As for the equalizer, to determine the correct replacement, you need to measure yours across from center to center of the bolt holes, as well as its height.

For example, if your equalizer was 7-3/4" across and 2-7/8" tall you would use the Curved Equalizer # TREQE1.

I have added a link below to our entire selection of equalizers for you which you can filter through by size.
