Are Longer Shackle Straps Needed For Taller Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizer Kit

Looking to upgrade to the LC696740 from the stock equalizers on my 2019 Attitude 32SAG. My stock equalizer is only approx 2” from the top bolt to the center of the lower bolts and uses 2 1/4 shackles. The LC696740 is 3 1/4. Do I just need longer shackles to make these work? Thanks.

Yep, you'll need to go with longer shackle straps for the taller Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizer Kit # LC696740.

For 3-1/8" straps use the Lippert AP Kit - Tandem Axle Road Armor Wet Bolts and Shackles # LC52SV.

I reached out to my contact at Lippert and he said that the rubber inside part of the Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizer Kit #LC696740 is not replaceable so if it were to become damaged you would need to replace the unit.

What is the difference in measurements? If your current equalizer is a little shorter in side to side length for the CRE3000 part #MR27ZR you would want to go with the longer shackle kit part #MR76ZR which is 3-1/8 inch.

You want leaf spring shackles to be at a slight angle as that prevents the springs from flipping around to the other side of the equalizer over uneven terrain. I attached a picture that shows what the angle is typically like.
