Recommended Wiring Harness For A 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 Premium Model
Question:
I have a 2018 MB GLC 300. I purchased your 118747 however the yellow clips on the end of the harness for driver and passenger side tail light connections do not fit. I spoke with your customer service and he has a picture of the connector I have coming from the tail light. Ive viewed your installation video for the MB GLC 300 and there is a bit of splicing involved. I understand the kit I purchased was supposed to eliminate the need for splicing but I believe the Premium package on my car makes the kit incompatible. I believe I may be able to use the kit in the following fashion. ...If I cut the ends of the harness to remove the yellow harness clips and use just the green wire passenger side and yellow and brown wire drivers side, then splice as follows: Drivers side Harness yellow into tail light grey with black stripe Harness brown into tail light black with purple stripe Passenger side Harness green into tail light green with brown stripe. Will this work? It seems to follow the color suggestions from your installation video... The attached pics show the clip tat goes into the drivers tail light. the other 2 show the harness ends Im suggesting I cut and then splice. Please advise. Thanks,

Thank you for the pictures. You are definitely on the right track here. The Tekonsha # 118747 is not intended for the models with the premium package. I will have customer service contact you for a return.
I do not recommend cutting the plugs off of the # 118747 and hardwiring it. The module is not intended to be hardwired, and would not function correctly. You also would void your warranty on the wiring harness. I would certainly not feel comfortable doing that, especially on a nicer vehicle like you 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300. Instead you will want the Tekonsha # 119147KIT, which is intended to be hardwired.
I have linked an install video below if you want to take a look.
