Recommended Hitch, Wiring Harness, and Ball Mount for a 2010 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
Im looking to put this hitch on a 2010 Subaru Outback 3.6 Limited and was wondering if the height of the receiver as it sits on that car is known? I have a trailer whos coupler sits at 15.5inch and Im trying to work out what type of draw bar to get for it so I can place a single order for everything. Thanks!

We installed the Curt Trailer Hitch item # C13410 on a 2012 Subaru Outback Wagon and we found that from the top of the hitch opening down to the ground measured 15".
Since your trailer has a coupler height that sits at 15-1/2", I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches item # C45534. This towing kit will provide you with a 2" ball and a fixed ball mount with a 3/4" rise and 2" drop. If you mount the ball on the bottom of the receiver with the Curt lettering facing down then you will be as close to level as you can get.
This kit also includes a hitch pin and clip, hitch receiver lock with keys, hitch cover, and a storage case.
The Curt Trailer Hitch item # C13410 is confirmed to fit your 2010 Subaru Outback. It is custom fit and bolts to your Outback with included hardware. I have linked an installation video below.
To pull a trailer you will also need a wiring harness, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C56040. This custom fit wiring harness plugs into your Subaru's existing wiring behind a interior trim panel in your rear cargo area. I also linked a video below to help you find the plug.
