Please tell me the diameter of the fan itself, not the housing or otherwise. IOW, what is the measurement of the fan blades, tip to tip?

The actual disc-type fan blade assembly in the Ventline Vanair 12V Trailer Roof Vent # VP-543SP measures 5-3/8-inches in diameter.

The unit has two lead wires, a white ground wire and a black +12V wire, and includes a push-button switch.
This unit offers low current draw yet delivers 100-cubic-feet-per-minute output.

You could certainly mount the Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent #VP-543SP on the side of a camper van wall but it's hard to say for certain if it would let water in or not in this orientation as it's never been tested in this configuration.

I spoke with my contact at Ventline and he informed me that this Ventline Vanair Trailer Roof Vent #VP-543SP is only to be mounted on the roof of a trailer. The reason is because if it was mounted on the side it would most likely leak water.
