Recommended Flat Towing Components For A 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:

I have a 2006 Monaco RV with air brakes. I would like to flat tow my 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4X4. I would like to buy a complete towing package with the Demco Air Force 1 braking system. Can you put a complete package together for me so I can purchase please.

Yes, to flat tow your 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 you'll need the following components:

Baseplate: etrailer Classic Base Plate Kit # e98959.

Tow Bar: etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e94ZR. This tow bar comes with safety cables bracketed to the arms so you won't have to purchase any separately or worry about them dragging on the ground. The head and shank are adjustable to help keep the tow bar level between the motorhome and Silverado.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This diode kit will splice into your factory wiring to display your motorhome's traffic signals through the tail lights of your Silverado.

Braking System: Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for Motor Homes with Air Brakes # SM99243. This is a great braking system and will definitely make your hauling experience better. This system does have to tap into the brake light switch wire of your Silverado for the indicator light. Unfortunately that wire isn't useable so you'll either need to get the Coachlink version of this system # DM26VR or install a stop light switch in order to get the braking signal.

If you have an adjustable brake pedal you'll need part # RM-751220 and for non-adjustable brake pedals you'll need part # RM-751421.
