Will the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater Work to Replace an Atwood Gas and Electric Water Heater

Question:

I have looked at the Furrion tankless water heater on your site. I have to replace my Dometic/Atwood 10-Gal Gas/electric tank. I was unable to locate the exact replacement. Does Furrion make a unit with Gas/Electric? If only gas available, what adaptors would be required to hook up the gas unit to what I currently have for both electric or gas source? Thanks in advance

No, Furrion does not make a gas and electric option. When tankless water heaters took off in popularity, most moved away from that and went to gas. The tankless options typically do not directly replace an older tank model, this would be why you couldn't find an "exact replacement".

Furrion somewhat addressed this with different access door size options to cover more or less of the cut-out. The Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR93FR has 3 different door size options.

- Replacement Access Door for Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR43FR (16"x16")
- Replacement Access Door for Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR63FR (16"x18")
- Replacement Access Door for Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR73FR (18"x18")

As far as adapters needed, there should not be adapters per se. There just may be some wiring that is not used and needs to be capped from the electric functions. I have included the installation instructions so you can see what all it entails.

Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency or the gas supplier.
