Replacement Camera For A Voyager RV Camera System On A 2009 Renegade Motorhome

Question:

Hi, I’ve got an 2009 renegade rv with a voyager backup camera. It doesn’t see well in the dark so I’d like to replace it with a newer one. I don’t want to have to run new wire from the back of the coach to the driver so what are my options if I keep the existing wiring. Just replacing the rear camera and if it would be a big upgrade, the monitor. I’d like a quality camera with good wide view. Thanks

If you have the old first generation system like I'm thinking you have then you can replace the rear camera with part # VGR84VR. You should have a 4-pin CEC connector on your current camera if this is the case and your monitor would not have the "WiSight 2.0" logo on it. The 1st and 2nd generations of these camera systems are not cross compatible so it's imperative that you choose the correct generation equipment.

The # VGR84VR is the only portion of the 1st generation systems that we have left so personally I would just upgrade everything to the 2.0 to avoid buying this camera and then having the monitor go out on you and then wasting all that money for an obsolete piece of equipment.

If you'd prefer to switch over to the 2.0 system then you'll want the Voyager WiSight 2.0 Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision # ASA57YR, which will come with a new wire harness to splice into your current wiring to connect the camera.
