Solution for Replacement Camera for Voyager WVOM43 Monitor

Question:

I have a Voyager WISight technology monitor, model WVOM43. The camera is full of water condensation and not working properly. Can the VCMS17B camera replace the current camera. The current system is wireless with the camera having a 4 pin connector to the RV. The camera says ASA on it with no other identification.

The WVOM43 monitor you have now is the 1st generation system and, as you said, wireless. The # VCMS17B is a wired camera so it is not directly compatible. 1st generation parts are no longer being made, and the newer generation is not backwards compatible either.

I have two options for you. The first is to use the # VCMS17B with the WVRX1AP transmitter. This is not something we carry since the 1st generation is being phased out, but it will allow you to use this camera with your monitor. However, you will be limited to one camera and if the monitor fails there are no replacements available.

The second option is to replace the system. Based on the cost of the camera and the transmitter, and the fact that this is a system no longer being produced, I recommend upgrading what you have. You can use the Voyager WiSight 2.0 Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision # ASA84YR. This will give you a better signal and replacement parts are available should you need them again in the future.
