  In order to install the Solera 18V Power RV Awning part # LC730523 you will indeed need to obtain an awning rail equal to the length of the awning.   The slide topper extrusions, like part # LC715216, measure 1.14" tall which is about 1-1/8". Since your 2003 Concord 235SO already has a railing though, you should be able to just use that as long as it's in good shape. The height of the extrusion will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer but they all use the same dimensions for where the awning inserts into the rail unless you have a specialty awning, then that might change.   Is is perfectly acceptable to use your existing extrusion like part # LC715216 that is already on your camper. They are designed in a uniform size and all are universal.
