Why Does The Trailer Wiring Kit For a 2023 Ford Bronco Sport Require Connecting To Vehicle Battery?
Question:
When installing a Trailer Wiring Kit, why is it necessary to run a power wire up to the battery on a Ford Bronco Sport?

Helpful Expert Reply:
The power wire ran to the battery with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK46FR is what powers the module and sends power to the trailer. This module combines the separate turn signal/brake lights into the single wire used on trailer as well as reduces power strain put on the factory wiring. Since vehicle wiring has gotten thinner to save on costs you cannot pull enough power from the factory wiring so the powered converter provides the power sent to the lights on the trailer.
If you are needing a receiver, I recommend the etrailer Receiver # e57KR. This receiver uses a hidden cross tube and matte black finish which I feel provides the best appearance.
