Replacement Axle Option For a 1960's Boat Trailer With 55-1/2" Axle Hub Face To Hub Face

Question:

I HAVE A OLD BOAT TRAILER FROM THE 1960S WITH WHAT I BELIEVE TO BE A OLD 1500 LB AXLE. I WANT TO REPLACE THE AXEL WITH A 2000 LB ONE. I CANT FIND ONE WITH THE SAME MEASURMENT OF OUTTER HUB FACE 55 1/2 AND SPRING CTR OF 45 1/4. THERE IS CLEARANCE TO GO SHORTER A LITTLE BIT OR EXTEND THE AXLE IF THIS WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE. CHECKING TO SEE IF YOU MITE HAVE SOMETHING THAT WOULD WORK. IM ALSO LOOKING TO REPLACE ALL HUBS BOTH 25 14 EYE TO EYE SPRING , HANGER/HARDWARE AND WHEELS. THANKS FOR ANY HELP YOU COULD GIVE ME.

I recommend checking out the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension w/ Idler Hubs # A20RS545. Our shortest 2,000lb axle is going to have a hub face of 60" # 20545I-ST-60-15. With the Timbren above it will mount to your trailer frame directly and there is no need for new leaf springs, or suspension hangers. This will place the hub face 4-5/8" from your trailer frame. The rubber springs are more progressive than traditional leaf springs and the system is rated for 2,000lbs.
