Question:
Hi, I have an issue with my 2022 Silverado LTZ and my Dexter brakes on my 22foot caravan. The brakes disconnect on me randomly and no one can help to work out what I can do to solve this issue. hope to chat soon.

In most cases, the random trailer brake disconnected message on the in-dash display of your pickup with factory trailer brake controller is caused by a loose connection between the vehicle and trailer. I recommended first inspecting the plug on either side to ensure the pins are all straight and free of corrosion. If this checks out I recommend replacing the trailer side plug first using the Hopkins Endurance Metal Trailer Connector part # HM48510 but if this does not work you'll need to replace the vehicle side as well with the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket part # HM40975 (bracket won't be used). These are both made by the same manufacturer so there shouldn't be any tolerance issues which I suspect is the problem you're having now. This should fix the issue but it might be worthwhile to check over your wiring before replacing the connections as well.
If these solutions don't work, just let me know and I will see if I can come up with anything else for you to look into.
