Best Type of Caulking for Aluminum Panels on a Trailer

Question:

What is the best caulking to use, to seal and attach to aluminum wall at rear of my trailer? Also, the holes dont line up to OE equipment, can I drill new, AND use the same caulking to patch old? 2 holes are off by about a 1/4 inch... Thanks for your help.

Although I would not be able to speak on the installation of the part(s) you received for your trailer, I can tell you that the TremPro 644 Silicone Sealant part # 0160297 will do an excellent job of sealing your new aluminum panel to the trailer and covering any holes you should need to fill. The sealant is white in color and comes in a 10.1-fl-oz cartridge. It can adhere to aluminum, galvanized metal, plastic, vinyl, fiberglass, wood, and even mortar/concrete. In order to apply the sealant I recommend using the Performance Tool Heavy-Duty Caulk Gun part # PTW54295 unless you already have one.
