Tire Size to Replace 215/75R14 to Drop Trailer Height 3 inches
Question:
I have a crestliner commander 1850 on a karavan single axle trailer. It has 215 75 r14 tire. How small of a tire can I put on it to get more clearance for my garage? I need like around 3 inches.

You'd have to go with a tire that is 6 inches overall shorter in diameter than what you have now since the diameter of a tire is split on either side of the axle. So based on the size you have now to lose that much diameter you'd need to go with the tire size of 4.80-12 like the # AM30670 which comes on a wheel that has the same bolt pattern as your current 14 inch wheel. This has a weight capacity of 990 lbs per wheel so you would need to verify that would be enough for your application.
