Recommended Bolt On Trailer Hitch For Carrying e-bike w/ 2021 Coleman 17B Travel Trailer
Question:
What length bolt on receiver hitch do I need for my Coleman lantern 2021 17b. I see all these responses saying it’s ok to attach to the bumpers but on another site they clearly say the bumpers are flimsy and not designed for that kind of weight and to do so would be asking for disaster this I am pursuing the receiver hitch which is adding significant cost to my plan to transport my electric trike with be this summer. Can you clarify?

It does seem to be a trend that RV bumpers are getting flimsier due to cheaper/thinner materials, so I completely understand not trusting it to carry your expensive e-bike.
What I recommend is the bolt on Curt # 13703 which fits frames that are up to 72" wide so it'll fit your 2021 Dutchmen Coleman Lantern 17B just fine.
You'll then want to make sure you're using a Travel Trailer rated bike rack for your e-bike as most bike racks are not rated for the extra force on the back of a travel trailer. I recommend the Swagman E-Spec # S94FR which is rated for use on the back of your trailer and supports e-bikes up to 70lbs.
This will be the safest and most secure way to transport your e-bike.
