Recommended Fastway WDH For 2007 Toyota Tacoma Towing 3,000 Pound Trailer

Question:

Hi. I have a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. Rv has a TW 310 and 3000 dry weight. I will add some weight but not much. Im looking at the FA92-00-045 and the FA-00-0600. the 0450 meets the specs but Ive been told the 0600 would be fine as well. Your recommendations. Thanks

The correct system will depend on the tongue weight of your fully loaded setup. With a dry weight of 3,000 lbs and dry tongue weight of 310 lbs, it is likely you will exceed the max tongue weight of the # FA92-00-0450 (450 lbs) once your truck and trailer are loaded. If you're over the rating of the system then it won't be effective.

Tongue weight is typically 10-15% of your loaded trailer weight. This will also include the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle in your truck. I recommend measuring using a tongue weight scale like the # e99044 to find your actual tongue weight instead of guessing.

I'm also not sure what your trailer GVWR is, but more than likely the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0600 will be the best fit. This system has a tongue weight range of 250-600 lbs. Ideally you want your tongue weight to fall into the middle of that range for it to be the most effective. If you measure and find that it is even higher, the # FA92-00-0800 is another option. This has a tongue weight range of 400-800 lbs.

All of these are the same aside from the rating from the spring bars. You will also need # EQ91-00-6080 for a 2" ball or # EQ91-00-6100 for a 2-5/16" ball. A 1-7/8" Thin walled socket # ALL643216 is required for hitch ball installation.
