Can Wheels with 2-3/4 Back Space Replace Wheels with 3 Back Space without Clearance Issues?

Question:

Hi, I bought new trailer wheels for my boat trailer, my current wheels have a3 inch back space, and new ones have a 2.75 inch back space . Would I have any issues with this. Thank you

You won't have any issues.

3" back space means that from the surface of the wheel that mounts to the hub to the back edge of the wheel nearest to the trailer frame measures 3", so your new wheels are going to be 1/4" further away from the frame of your boat trailer.

Sounds like you picked up some slightly narrower wheels as your new wheels are more than likely 5-1/2" wide where your old wheels were more than likely 6" based on that back space measurement.
