How To Prevent Hitch from Bottoming Out on Steep Driveways

Hello, Sprinter Van w hitch towing 26 trailer w light boat 3Klbs We have an inclined driveway. I am wondering if there is a way to avoid bottoming the hitch when going over the steep decline prior to the trailer following. i could be overthinking it? Maybe there is a way to measure decline angle and legnth, height of hitch? thx in adv!

I do have a simple solution for you which will prevent damage to the trailer hitch but there's really nothing else you can do short or raising the vehicle or leveling the driveway, neither of which we can help with. That said, what we can offer is the Roadmaster Rollaway Trailer Hitch Protector part # RM-050 which will help protect the trailer hitch when not in use, driving up or down steep driveways. The skid wheel will make contact with the ground and rotate to prevent damage to the receiver.
