Recommended Camera And TPMS Systems For A 2017 Forest River Sierra 379FLOK 5th Wheel

Question:

I am looking for a rear camera system and TPMS for my 5th wheel RV. It is a 2017 Sierra 379FLOK at 42’ in length. On occasion I double tow with a an extra 14’ small trailer behind the 5th wheel. I use a 2019 Chev Duramax. What do you suggest? I wish there was one system that provides both.. reliably. Thank you

At this time there isn't a great all in one kit for TMPS and rear camera but I still do have some great options for you.

For the camera system Furrion is the way to go. The base would be the Furrion Vision S Wireless RV Backup Camera System w/ Night Vision 4.3" Screen # FOS43TASF, which is great but doesn't allow for additional cameras.

If you get the 5" # FOS05TASF or 7" # FOS07TASF versions then you'll be able to add on side cameras and one more rear camera that people typically place on the nose of the trailer to help with hooking up or above the door as a security camera.

You can also get the 5" # FCE48TASL-05 which includes the side cameras for an all-in-one package.

As for the TPMS sensor, this is going to depend on the type of valve stems you have on the trailers as most systems are either for rubber or metal valve stems and don't mix and match. The TireMinder A1AS TPMS for RVs and Trailers w/ Signal Booster # TM79FR, however, is capable of working with rubber, steel, chrome, or nickel valve stems. It comes with 10 sensors and can be monitored through the monitor or through an app on your phone. I've attached a short video below where Conner will walk you through installation and use of this system.

What about recommendations for a wired camera system? One that fits a 42’ 5th wheel and truck. I would also like it to have a disconnect in the bed. Thank you

@KevinL If you're wanting a wired connection between the camera and monitor then you could go with the Voyager RV Observation Camera System # VOM43HDCL1B and run the wiring with extensions to have a disconnect point in the bed of your truck. This system is going to come with a 15' cable so you'll want to take a tape measure and work your way from the camera out to the nose of the trailer to get an idea of how long of an extension you'll need to route to this point and then go through the same process with the truck. We have the following extension sizes available: 10' # VGR94FR 15' # CEC15 25' # CEC25 34' # CEC34 50' # CEC50 75' # CEC75
