Recommended Camera System to Monitor Trailer Tires During Travel
Question:
I have a pickup and camper and tow a boat trailer and at times a smaller kayak trailer. I am not able to see the trailer tires in the mirrors. I am looking for a way to monitor and see the tires when I tow so if a blowout occurs or a problem I can see it. will the rvs 83112 rear view camera be able to be mounted in such a way that I can see the tires on both sides of the trailer? Also if I get the wifi model is there a problem not getting wifi in certain areas when traveling around the country? Up in mountains, across alaska, etc. Thank you.

You can pretty much mount the camera for the RVS System # RVS-83112 anywhere you have a flat surface on the truck or trailer, so I'm confident you can find a good spot that allows you to monitor the tires. The system creates its own WiFi signal so interference from mountains or potential loss of connection in remote areas shouldn't be an issue. If you have any reservations about this style though you can always lean on the reliability of a hardwire system like # RVS # RVS-770614-213, which comes with two cameras, will be a better solution.
With all of that being said, an even better option that you might be interested in is a TPMS system like the iN-Command # NCTP100. This includes 4 waterproof sensors that you will install on the trailer tire valve stems so you can monitor temperature and pressure changes on your smart phone. Since excessive heat is the most common cause of tire failure, being alerted to drastic temperature changes can allow you enough time to pull over before it's too late.
I've attached a couple video demonstrations on these systems that you can check out as well.
