How Can 7-Way/Brake Controller Install 2018 GMC Savana 3500 Cutaway
Question:
I have a 2018 GMC Savana 3500 Cutaway van, an ex-Penske truck. It currently has the 4-pin connector at the rear, but I want to add a 7-pin RV type connector and an electric brake controller. I like the Tekonsha 90915 controller, and have found the 4 wires in the cab needed to hook up to the brake controller. Even though the wires do not have the plug on them taped up ends, how do I locate them at the rear of the vehicle? Is there a wiring kit for the rear of the GMC 3500 Cutaway? Thank you

There might be a round connector at the rear of your 2018 GMC Savana Cutaway which you could plug a Hopkins 7-way part # 30955 into but the cutaway models aren't all the same unfortunately. If you find the connector you can use the # 30955 but if not you'd need to use the # 37185 to convert your 4-way to a 7-way and you'd need to run a length of 10 gauge wire like part # 10-1-1 from the blue wire of the adapter to the blue wire of the brake controller. Either setup will work great with the P3 part # 90195.
