Troubleshooting Bulldog Powered Jack Only Operating When Trailer Attached to Tow Vehicle
Question:
If the pigtail is connected to the truck on the trailer , I can raise and lower the trailer Tongue . If it is not when I push extend or retract the light on the unit shuts off and there is no power, will not work at all. It has worked Flawlessly for the last three years and just recently it started doing this. Any advise?

Based on what you described, it sounds like a lack of power and is probably due to your trailer battery. If your 7-way is hooked up that would typically provide a maintenance charge for the battery. In this case it is more than likely just enough to let you power the jack with the trailer plugged into the vehicle.
I would start by making sure the battery is charged. It may also be worth checking the wiring connections just to be sure. If you find that you need a replacement battery you can use the # BRW34FR for a group 24 or # BRW94FR for a group 27.
