How To Wire A Charge Line Kit On A 6-Pole Socket For Flat Towing

Question:

I am setting up a toad Jeep and plan to use the Hopkins HM4705 cable to connect from the Class C RV to the jeep. I need to know how the 7-pin connector is wired to the 6-pin so I can plan my Jeeps wiring to hook up lights and charge the cable.

The Hopkins Nite-Glow Tow Bar Extension Cord w/ Sockets # HM47056 is actually a 6-pole to 6-pole connector so if you wanted a 7-way to 6-way then I recommend going with the # RM-15267 so that you can get the diode wiring for the Wrangler and the adapter cable all in one.

You'll want to test the functions of each wire for the 7-way socket on the rear of your motorhome to know which way it was wired, but I've gone ahead and attached a diagram below of standard 7-pole wiring and 6-pole wiring. The charge line kit # RM-156-25 will go on the center pin of the 6-pole socket.

You'll also want to check that the 7-way on your motorhome has a charge line installed as well. If not, you can use part # RM-156-75 for your motorhome. I've attached some videos below to help with the installation process.
