Recommended Flat Towing Equipment For A 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK Sport
Question:
I have a sterling tow bar on the RV I bought and I would like to tow a 2015 Jeep wrangler JK sport. The towbar is missing the baseplate. My questions are: What baseplate do I need? What electrical connections do I need? The towbar has blue wire 4 pin round connectors. I can send pictures to help identify the towbar and its wiring.

Thank you for the pictures you sent. The Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-576 has direct-connect attachment points so you'll want to use a Roadmaster direct-connect style base plate to attach to without the need of an adapter. For this I recommend the Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM-521448-5. In your picture your tow bar has a crossbar # RM-067 attached as well as the arms from another base plate. You'll need to remove the crossbar and arms at the direct-connect mounting points to connect to the recommended base plate. I recommend holding onto the crossbar as you may need it down the road if you decide to flat tow another vehicle that only has crossbar style base plates available.
To flat tow your 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK Sport you'll also need a tow bar wiring kit, braking system, and safety cables. I have the following recommendations for you:
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. Your motorhome most likely has a 4-way flat or 7-pole round connection and since we don't carry an adapter to go from your 4-pole round to either of the other connection styles I recommend just removing the blue 4-pole round cable from your tow bar and using the provided 6 to 7 pole adapter cable included in this kit. This diode kit allows you to use your Jeep Wrangler's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV.
Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # HM39524. This system offers intense, emergency braking or steady, smooth braking in a single portable system. Easily switch between proportional or full braking from your motorhome using the remote. The included charge line kit will send up to 15amps to keep your Jeep's battery charged while towing.
Safety Cables: RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000lbs # RM-643. The coiled design of these cables will help prevent them from dragging on the ground and being damaged.
You may also need a high/low adapter to keep your tow bar level while hauling your Jeep. This requires you to do some measuring so I've attached our help guide article to walk you through the steps of determining the correct rise/drop.
