Recommended Ramp Springs for 25 Ton Lowboy Trailer
Question:
I just made new ramps for my 25 ton lowboy and Im considering spring assist for easy of operation. the ramps are 35 wide x 78 long, weigh about 325 lbs each and have a full width 1.5 hinge pin. The ramps will be transported in the vertical position. What model spring and how many on each ramp would be recommended?

I recommend the Redline Ramp Spring - 2K Torque for 1-1/2" Round Shaft for the new ramps on your trailer. You will need the # RS16933RH for the right and # RS16933LH for the left hand side. One spring per ramp should be adequate without overdoing it. However, you will want to secure the ramps with strap or something similar and not count solely on the springs to keep them in the vertical position.
