How to Extend 5 Long Reverse Light Wiring From Wesbar 5-Flat Trailer Plug
Question:
I am looking at cleaning out all of the old wiring on my 2013 Ranger 19ft boat. I currently have a 5 pole connector so this should be a direct replacement. My question is, would a juntion box help me in keeping the new wiring clean? AND, how would I connect the back up lights with only a 5ft blue wire? My current harness has a red wire specifically for recerse lights.

I definitely recommend adding a junction box like the Junction Box # 3375601101 because it helps keep all of the connections in 1 place and makes it easier to add/remove and troubleshooting wiring in the future. Just be sure you install it in a safe place where it won't get wet since it isn't submersible.
The 5' auxiliary wire on the 25 Ft 5-Way Trailer Wiring Harness # A25W5B is usually connected to a surge brake coupler with an electrical reverse lockout which is why it's so short. To extend this wire to the back of your trailer you need extra wiring # DW02923-1 and heat shrink butt connectors # DW05743-5 (3-wire sold by the foot) to protect your wiring connections.
