4-Pole And 7-Way Trailer Connectors For A 2006 Chevrolet Express Van 3500

Hi there I am looking to wire a trailer connection on my 2006 Chevrolet Express 3500. The trailer I am looking to pull uses a 4 flat connection. My van has 7 wires on the back of it for the trailer connection. Can i just use 4 of the wires to wire a 4-flat connection on and leave the other ones out of the mix?

Sure you can use the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness With 4-Pole Wiring Connector # 31345, however I recommend also installing the Universal Installation Kit For Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7.

This kit will utilize the existing 4-pole connector, and also provide your 2006 Chevrolet Express Van with the capabilities of a 7-way.

Leaving out the other wires is going to limit the type of trailers you can tow, which is why I recommend installing # ETBC7 as well.
