Parts Needed to Convert a 4-way on 2011 Kia Sorento to a 7-way and Brake Controller Recommendation
Question:
I have a 2011 KIA Sorento LX equipped with a tow package. It has a 4 pole adapter. I need to prepare it to pull a hybrid Rockwood trailer. I also want to install a brake controller. What products would I need? Instructions would be very helpful as well. Thanks!

The first thing you are going to need to do is convert your 4-way to a 7-way. Which is probably why you referenced the Tow Ready Adapter # 30717. For a more complete adapter kit that comes with everything you would need to make the conversion you would want a Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7. This comes with absolutely everything needed to convert a 4-way to a 7-way and install a brake controller. Check out the installation instructions and install video I attached as well.
For a brake controller I would recommend the Prodigy P2 Brake Controller part # 90885. This is one of our best selling brake controllers because of how well it works and how easy it is to setup. Check out the install instructions and video I attached for this product also.
