Installing Dual-Cam With Friction Sway Control

Question:

I already have a Reese friction bar and weight distributing installed, but need more sway control on my Outback 31RQL. If I add a dual cam system, should and can I leave the friction bar on?

If you go with the Reese Dual-Cam, you will want to remove the friction sway unit. The Dual-Cam system is the top-of-the-line performing sway control system that will actually prevent trailer sway from beginning before it can start. The Dual-Cam system has been extremely well received and highly rated by our customers.

You would gain no benefit from leaving the friction unit in place, and the unit might actually interfere with the brackets that mount the dual-cam to the trailer frame.

Keep in mind, the Dual-Cam is only compatible with spring bars that have the hook in the end of them, as shown in the provided photo.
