Recommended Powered RV Vent For A 2013 Heartland Trail Runner With A 7-1/2 Thick Roof

Question:

Can I use either the V2092SP-28 or the V2094SP-30 if my travel trailer, 2013 Heartland Trail Runner roof has a 7 1/2inch depth? I say 7 1/2inch - that is the depth between the outer top edge to the inner bottom edge of my current Ventline roof vent. Thank you.

Technically you could use the Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # V2094SP-30 or the # V2094SP-28 but the garnish wouldn't be long enough to accommodate the depth of your ceiling. The largest garnish we carry for Ventline fans is # VA0445-37 at 5-5/16" so you'd have a gap between the vent and the garnish.

You'd honestly be better off with the MaxxFan Mini Plus Manual RV Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - LED Light - Black # MA00-03851 or # MA00-03801 for white cover.

These two vents would complete cover the gap so that you wouldn't see it and come with some additional features the Ventline doesn't have. The Rain Shield cover allows you to use your vent in any weather and also while driving, unlike the Ventline. They also have an LED light to help add some light or provide a bit of an accent to your trailer.

Installation is super easy, but you'll also want to grab some butyl tape # AL28FJ, Self-Leveling Sealant # AL98KV, and some longer screws from your local hardware store to fit your 7-1/2" depth. I've attached a short video below where I'll walk you through this installation on a trailer where I had to get longer screws to fit the roof thickness.
