Do Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs Fit 2021 Ford Ranger

Question:

The notes on these state “not verified for ‘21 Ford Ranger” but curious as to why and what exception there may be for light weight campers. I have a 2000 popup sun light skyhawk sb that weighs roughly 1000 lbs, the payload in the Ranger is about 1800. Based on the mechanics on how the tie downs work it seems that they would be a good fit for the bed of the Ranger. Assuming that the wider frame mounts would be best for a hard top camper to to a higher center of gravity while in motion, it seems with a popup these may be an acceptable solution? I can’t see where there would be dimension issues but maybe I’m missing something? Totally new to this so there’s a high likelihood that I have zero clue what I’m talking about.

I believe you are asking about the Brophy Tie-Downs # HSWB, and those won't fit your 2021 Ford Ranger as they are too wide for your truck's bed rails, and wouldn't be tight enough to your truck. I checked with Brophy and they were very clear those specific tie-downs are for the 2019+ F-250 and F-350 and should not be used on other trucks. What you can use instead for your '21 Ford Ranger are other Brophy tie-downs:

- Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs - Bed Mount # HSAB

The # HSAB are a universal fit, unlike the vehicle-specific # HSWB, so you'll just need to check your '21 Ranger's bed rail width is not more than 5-1/2" (I'm fairly certain it is less but I do recommend verifying) and that you have at least 2" of space beneath the lip of the bed rail.

Then for turnbuckles use the Brophy Basic Turnbuckles w/ Hardware for Camper Tie-Downs # TDHP.
