Curt TruTrack L Bracket Bend Replacement

One of the L brackets on my Curt TruTrack hitch bent slightly the first day I towed the trailer. Is it okay to use it to get the trailer to the storage facility five miles up the road, and then get a replacement?

When using your Curt TruTrack like The Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control - Trunnion - 10,000 pounds GTW, 1,000 pounds TW # C17500 if you're driving slowly you can get the trailer to the storage facility with the bent L Bracket, but would recommend replacing it right after.

The Replacement Frame Brackets for Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # C17508 is the replacement L brackets you will need. They have a black powder coated steel that is durable and corrosion resistant. The kit includes 2 brackets and the installation hardware. It will fit a maximum trailer frame size of 4 inches wide to 6 inches tall.

Based on your photo, the system was not setup correctly so the bars that should be applying friction to the brackets evenly is only hitting on that inside edge of the bar. That will not carry the weight correctly and definitely can cause scary sway.…

I recommend using the Rear View Safety Universal Mirror Monitor #RVS-619N with the Rear View Safety Backup Camera System #RVS-770613-213. This is their larger 7" monitor which will give you a clear view with a color screen.
