Recommended Trailer Wiring For A 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan
Question:
hello I was in the process of connecting up the trailer receiver and wiring harness connector on the back of the Tiquan I was told after the fact the the Tiquan needs a trailer module......which I purchased from VW. But still doesnt work. What I found out later on was that Im missing a short cable up front at the fuse box area that connects the harness for the trailer module in the back drivers side where can I get this connect? Please help if you can.

When it comes to installing a trailer wiring harness on your 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan without knowing actually which wire you have I am not sure what part you're needing the wire you're discussing is for a break controller so it sounds like you were sold the wrong part. I would recommend The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # CU26FR which comes with everything needed to adapt the wiring harness on your vehicle.
The harness provides a 4-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. This connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side rear access panel. You will have to remove all trunk floor coverings, spare tire, scuff panels, cargo tie downs, interior side panels, and tail light. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead to your car battery, which can be found in your trunk on the passenger's side. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
I attached a review video link below.
