Cushioned Equalizer Upgrade Kit For a 2017 Jayco White Hawk RV With 42 Axle Spread

Question:

I want to change out my trailer equalizer to a Road Armor system on my 2017 Jayco White Hawk RV. My concern is my current equalizers are very wide at 16 outside bolt to bolt. Your pictures of the Road Armor and descriptions show them at 5-1/2 inches wide. How do I make up the difference for the leaf springs?

The Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers # LC314336 and MORryde 14-3/4" Shock Absorbing Equalizers # MR34AR are specifically designed for the 42" axle spread on your 2017 Jayco White Hawk RV. You would need the Lippert Tandem Axle Equa-Flex AP Kit # LC64FR or MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit # MR76ZR to match with their equalizer and have wet bolts for your suspension.

The only way to use the Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizer Kit # LC696740 with the Lippert AP Kit # LC52SV will involve moving your suspension hangers. This will be quite an undertaking as the hangers are welded on and will need to be rewelded in the correct place on the frame. When you do this you will also have to add additional J-pan and fenders as you will be moving the axles closer together.

I recommend using LubriMatic LMX Industrial Strength Grease # L11390 with a Grease Gun # L30416 to fill the wet bolts.
