Comparing MORryde Equalizers MR34AR and Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shocks For Tandem Axle TT

Question:

Hi, I have a tandem wheel TT with Dexter equalizer 13-142. Can I replace the stock equalizers with MR34AR? If so, would the ride height change? Im also thinking about a shock absorber kit. Would a shock absorber kit be better than than the MR34AR, or do they perform separate functions? Thanks

The Dexter Equalizers # K13-142-02 you have on your tandem axle travel trailer can absolutely be replaced with the MORryde 14-3/4" Shock Absorbing Equalizers for Tandem Axle Trailers w/ 42" Wheelbase - 8K # MR34AR you mentioned, as they are the exact same length at 14-3/4". The MORryde # MR34AR will be slightly taller, but would only lift your trailer maybe 1/2" or so.

A shock absorber kit and these equalizers do the same function, but a shock absorber kit is much more effective and would be the better option. Due to the size of the equalizers your trailer uses, I am assuming that it has 5200-7000lb axles that are 3" in diameter.

If that is the case then I recommend going with the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers for Tandem Axle Trailers - 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb Axle # RM-2460. This kit includes everything needed to get the shocks installed, and will do a great job of giving your trailer a smoother, tighter ride.

If you find your trailer has a different diameter axle, just let me know.

I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
