Suspension Equalizer Upgrade For a 2015 Coachmen Freedom Express Travel Trailer Wide Spread Axle

Question:

Looking at doing the Road Armor equalizers on my 2015 Coachmen Freedom Express 248rbs. The measurement between the spring eye bolts is 14 3/4in. This trailer has spread axles. I am assuming since that that measurement is far longer than the 6in measurement. Do you have a road armor setup that will work on this trailer. Please let me know. Thanks so much

I recommend the Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers # LC314336 for your 2015 Coachmen Freedom Express 248RBS. This equalizer is 14-5/8" from bolt hole center to bolt hole center and will fit in place off your current equalizer.

You are correct that that the Road Armor Shock Absorbing Equalizer Kit # LC696740 will not work since it is designed for trailers with a 6" equalizer.

The Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers # MR46ZR will provide you will all new wet bolts, bronze bushings and shackle straps to replace all the bolts for your leaf springs so that you will be able to grease the suspension. This will allow the cushioned equalizer to move much easier and absorb the road shock better.

I recommend using LMX Industrial Strength Grease # L11390 as the best grease for the wet bolts. It is specifically designed for high wear situations and withstands extreme hot and cold temperatures. The formula used is highly water insoluble to prevent the grease from breaking down it it comes into contact with rain.
