Recommended Air Conditioner for 20 Foot Toy Hauler Conversion

Question:

I have a new featherlite 20ft gooseneck that Im fitting out as a toy hauler for Gulf fishing trips. I am looking for a dual AC system. I would like to run both while on shore power with the option to run one off a generator. I have a Honda 3000i but can upgrade if recommended. Thank you!

I recommend the Atwood Air Command Rooftop RV Air Conditioner, # AT15027-22. This is a complete set-up with simple, straightforward electronics that are easy to install. This has a dual motor design that runs the condenser fan and blower fan separately with an internal thermostat that automatically switches between fan and compressor. You will have control settings on both thermostat and a remote. This is a 13,500 Btu unit that operates at 11.3 Amps.

We have the Soft Start for RV AC Units, # SSR54FR that reduces the power needed to start your RV's air conditioner for a more efficient operation. This is a common add-on for RV AC units to better operate from a generator. But I doubt this will be needed with a 3000i Honda as I think it will handle the one AC unit just fine. If you want the option of operating both AC's from the generator, you may want to consider the Soft Start for RV AC Units, # SSR54FR.
