7-Way Blade Connector Recommendation for a Trailer
Question:
Bought a used 2005 trailer with a 7 way connector. Brand new hitch and brake set up installed in truck. Plug in from trailer does not fit brake connection on truck. It looks like the 7 flat metal connection on the truck are wider than the slot on the connect from the trailer. Are there different sizes? If yes, easier to change the connection on the truck or the RV?

Could it be that you have a 7-way round connection on your trailer and a 7-way blade on your truck.
To see what a 7-way round trailer connection looks like check out the Pollak 7-way # PK11700. If that is not what you have send me a pic and I will see what I can find out.
It would probably be easier and make more sense to change the connector on your trailer. For a replacement I would recommend the Pollak 7-Way # PK12706. You will want to wire by function when wiring this connector up instead of by wire color as there isnt an industry standard for trailer wire colors.
I attached an FAQ on trailer wiring for you to check out.
