2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid Touring Hitch and Lift Gate Capabilities

Question:

Ive been told by eTrailer experts that ONLY have recommended the more expensive EcoHitch 306-X7345 is the only confirmed COMPATIBLE hitch for the 2021-22 Honda CR-V Hybrid Touring. But others on your staff indicate that the e98898 ? is also compatible with this hybrid touring model. Can you tell me which 1 or more that are definitely compatible with this vehicle??? Note that we Honda hybrid touring owners have an auto tailgate sensor that opens the tailgate via waving of a foot under the bumper. Some of your staff indicate that the sensor wont work after hitch installed. Others say it will be the sweets spot is narrow. Which of the models can you provide are compatible and of those, which most likely to still allow auto taligate operation?? Your help is crucial to my order, and I hope that you can take a 30 minute period to specifically articulate this on your website. Thanks so much for your IMMEDIATE REPLy.

I would be happy to help you and be specific about what hitch fits your 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid Touring. The etrailer hitch item # e98848 will definitely fit your 2022 Honda CR-V Hybrid Touring. As will the EcoHitch item # 306-X7345. We list things a little odd with our fitguide and it sometimes causes confusion. The Hybrid models for a certain year can have different things in the way of where the hitch installs and it takes some time to sort out the newer vehicles.

None of the hitches for your 2022 CR-V Hybrid Touring are fully compatible with the lift gate sensor. They all will block the sensors in the center of the bumper, where the 2" x 2" receiver tube will obscure them. If you wave your foot to the left or right of the receiver tube by a foot or so, the sensors should pick up the movement there. Normally Honda offers a relocation kit that moves the sensors. This is not an option for the hybrid models.
