Roof Rack System Recommendation for Roof Top Tent on a Camper
Question:
Hello, I need a roof rack for a 2014 Runaway Coolcamp Camper. Rack needs to hold a roof top tent and be a mounted rack drilled into the camper. I was told rhino rack was the OEM rack but rhino customer service can’t help. Thanks and please send recommendations.

For the absolute best option for mounting a roof top tent to your 2014 Runaway Camper, I recommend the Rhino-Rack Aero Bar Roof Rack for Camper Shells - Track Mount - Black - Standard - 59" Long # Y02-490B. Even though this system has a maximum dynamic weight capacity of 220 pounds, Rhino-Rack does not provide a weight rating for the maximum static weight capacity. The static weight capacity is the maximum rating the rack can support when the vehicle and camper are not in motion. In order to determine the maximum rating that you need, both the tent and your camper's roof must have enough weight capacity to support added body weight. As far as installation, this system allows you to drill into the caper's roof with the included T-bolts. If you need to shorten the length of the tracks, you can cut them to the dimensions you need.
If you need a great tent option, I recommend the Yakima SkyRise HD Tent for Roof Rack Crossbars - 3 Person - 600 lbs - Tan and Red # Y07437. This tent accommodates up to 3 people up to 600 pounds. It also comes with a 2-1/2 inch wall-to-wall mattress for added comfort.
