Parts Needed to Install 7-Way on 2021 Dodge Durango
Question:
I have a 2021 Dodge Durango that did not come with any factory towing package. I have the hitch off my 2017 Durango which came from Etrailer which I’m pretty sure will fit to this newer model. My issue is that I have a new Bass Boat on the way that has a 7 post trailer connector. The old 4 post I bought before for the 2017 had wires I had to run to the battery and the 2 tail lights. Looking on your site today for the 7 post it has kits that have simple short Factory plugs. I don’t really see on my 2021 where that will work on my truck and did not catch any videos that addressed that. I’ll include pictures of what I am looking at - boat plug and item online. I’m trying to find the right trailer light connector kit.

We can help you install a 7-way on your 2021 Dodge Durango but since your vehicle did not come with the factory tow package you will need to start with a 4-way like the # C56336 which is a confirmed fit and then use a 7-way adapter like the part # 37185 if the trailer does not have trailer brakes or part # ETBC7. Then for a brake controller the Brake EVN # TK63VR would be a great option.
Your trailer hitch from the 2017 Durango would also fit your 2021 like the part # e98901.
