Installation
This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A tail light converter is built into this T-connector. This converter is a circuit-protected, battery-powered unit that bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness. As a result, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
Curt builds each tail light converter using surface-mount technology (SMT). This method of construction involves soldering electronic components directly to the surface of a printed circuit board. SMT eliminates the need for leads, which are used in older through-hole technology. The result is a circuit board that is smaller yet provides more routing area and that offers superior performance, reliability and durability.
Circuit boards constructed using SMT have been shown to perform better under rough conditions with excessive vibration than those made using the through-hole method. And where would vibration be more likely to occur than in towing applications? Curt converters also produce less heat, leading to increased durability and longer life. In addition, lower levels of resistance ensure better performance, especially for parts that operate at higher frequencies.

Highly recommend and easy install. Took me about an hour and a half from start to finish.
Everything fit perfectly, installation videos were a huge help.
If I had one thing to complain about it would be the packaging that this hitch came in, could be packaged a little better, my box had holes and rips in it, luckily all pieces were still inside, other than that , would definitely order from here again !!
Good product with everything you need, but the install videos are the deal sealer! Love eTrailer, without the how-to videos, it'd be a lot more difficult.
Just finished installing this morning. Read the instructions and watched the video. Those were very helpful. Although the vehicle in the video was the same as mine, 2020 Dodge Durango GT, some of the features on that vehicle were different. I did not have to lower the spare tire or the exhaust. Everything was accessible without doing so. Also did not have to trim the bumper facia. The wiring harness hooked up just as well. Instead of running the wiring on the outside of the tow hitch, I ran the wires to the left side of the vehicle through the hitch bar itself. Also was able to mount the controller up much higher and future away from the exhaust. Figured I would install the wiring harness at the same time as the hitch. Took a total of 3 hours to complete.
Installed on 2016 Durango, it went well, nice product, I really liked the positive wire gauge, and quality! I added a small mounting bracket to an existing 13mm stud to mount the controller for a solid mount location. Thank you

Fit my 2018 Dodge Durango perfectly! Easy installation and solid design. I ended up trading i nthe Durango shortly after so no experience towing but for fit it worked beautifully

Loved the installation of this. So easy, took me 30 minutes from start to finish. Includes everything you need. I used the installation video they send you in your purchase email instead of the paper. Clean install, works great so far. Highly recommend
Very easy to install. Zip-ties are included but you will need more. Check with your dealer/service manager before installing.
The kit was new in box but old stock. The 2 sided tape was not sticky anymore. The butt connectors and ring terminal were all oversized for the wiring which would cause improper and unsecured connections. Grounding wire needed to be about 2" longer to reach an existing bolt to prevent drilling. System works good once installed just poorly executed and would have been nice had it come with usable mounting tape.
It would be nice if the cables from the passenger side tail light were just a bit longer to allow for better mounting options. Otherwise, this is a simple install and works nicely. Good instructions and all needed hardware is included.

Well unit works. The Hoppkins unit which was like 5 months old did not.
One thing to note is every other one I have installed runs the power wire down the drivers side to the unit. This means the green wire to the right rear directional is long to reach.
I reused the power wire from the Hoppkins which was on the drivers side but now the green wire is too short and the yellow and brown for the left side was really long.
No biggie just made the green wire longer snd coiled the yellow/brown and secured it. Just be aware of this. If installing the first time just run the power wire down the pass side and you are hood to go.
Generally not that difficult to install on my Dodge Durango. It helps to first watch the how to video on the etrailer web site and give yourself at least a couple of hours to do the work. There was just enough length from the right side tail light connectors to the power module. So - It's important to make sure the right side connections are securely done BEFORE anchoring the power module with the adhesive. Everything else is pretty clearly explained in the video. The overall quality of the parts seems OK.
etrailer.com services were as expected and I had no issue with them 5 stars. Installation of the trailer hitch was easy and only took an actual 30 minutes once you had the tools. The wiring for the 2014 Dodge Durango to support the hitch was ok but the dodge 2014 battery location is under the passenger set so the directions could use some additional details.
My only issue was that when we opened the box from e-trailer and removed the hardware that was taped into the trailer hitch tubing a bunch of rodent poop, dried up fell out and all over. So not so cool.
Otherwise all was fine.
I ordered the Draw Tite hitch for my 2015 Durango and the installation could not have been easier, less than 30 minutes! I also ordered a wiring harness to go along with it and as I was watching the installation video I realized I had gotten the wrong one because my vehicle came with a trailer tow prep package from the factory. I immediately called etrailer and let them know. They sent me out the correct harness and sent me the shipping label to return the other. Within 4 days I had the correct harness installed and all is good. Absolutely fantastic customer service, the way all businesses should be run. Will be recommending you to all my friends. Thanks!
Great product. Easy to Install, not done yet on the Durango but I installed one just like it on my Nitro. Easy install check out e trailers videos for step by step instructions!

No issues going stong.
This product failed in about the 9 month time frame. My Drives taillight stayed on with the car turned off and I had to disconnect the taillight adapter and remove the harness to prevent my battery from draining.
Quick and easy to install, all worked g reat!
Product thus far has performed as expected. Installation was easy with two notable issues. 1st- tucking the T-connector bundle behind the left turn signal assembly need positioning and 2nd the instructions should be clearer about routing the power wire forward up the passenger side to the fuse panel. The Durango/Grand Cherokee are tight on the underside and up thru the engine compartment..
Rickey was very helpful at etrailer with product correction.

Product is great. Not a single problem after over a year. I installed the 7500lb hitch with the above wiring harness. Figured to go a little over max tow capacity to ensure a great towing experience.
