Will My 2-1/2 Wide Bike Tires Fit on the Ramp Included with the Yakima OnRamp # Y96FR?

Question:

I am interested in this bike rack. I need the loading ramp because ebikes Im buying are too heavy for me to lift. How wide is the rack. Bike Im interested in has 2 1/2 inch wide tires. I saw a negative review on Amazon saying the ramp is only 2 inchs wide. I looked at your Q and A section and no mention of ramp width. Please confirm inch Max tire width for the Ramp Thanks

I have a great solution for you. The ramp on the Yakima OnRamp - 1-1/4" # Y96FR measures about 2 inches. However, I confirmed with Yakima that your bike with 2-1/2 inch tires will work just fine. They will just ride the side of the lips of the ramp when loading.

If you want a ramp that fully accommodates the tires on your bike, I recommend the Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" Hitches - Wheel Mount # NV12G along with the Access Ramp for Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack # ANVBRB. With the NV 2.0, you get an efficient wheel-mounting style that has a 60-pound per-bike weight capacity. As far as the Access Ramp, it measures 4-1/4 inches wide from outer edge to outer edge. Also, this rack is compatible with both Class I and Class II 1-1/4 inch receivers while the OnRamp is only compatible with Class II 1-1/4 inch receivers.

If you need a compatible hitch on your vehicle, feel free to respond with the year/make/model and I will be happy to recommend the best hitch for you.
