Good question, and there are just two differences between the Saris SuperClamp HD and EX, which is the size of the receiver(s) they fit and motorhome compatibility:
- Compatible With Motorhome & Fits 2" Receiver Only: Saris SuperClamp HD Bike Rack # SAR44VR
- Not Compatible w/ Motorhome & Fits 1-1/4" or 2: Receiver: Saris SuperClamp EX Bike Rack # SA4025F
Otherwise, these are exactly the same bike rack; both have a 60 lb per-bike capacity, grasp your bikes by the tires so there is no frame contact as they are being transported, and have a shank that rises 5" to help keep the rack safe from making ground contact.
So really, the best option for you depends on if you have a motorhome and want a bike rack that is approved for use behind it. If so, then go with the SuperClamp HD # SAR44VR; otherwise, go with the SuperClamp EX # SA4025F.
