What Wiring Harness do I Need to Use the Saris Light Bar # SA4426?
Question:
Saris light bar wiring question. need light bar to work when tow vehicle is being towed. I used the Blue Ox BX8848 wire kit. E-trailer Tech support indicated that I need to tap in to the 4 wire feed to run a 4 wire harness to plug in to the Saris plug. Do you have a four wire bundle 5 feet with prong adaptor and a products to tap-in to the 4 lines before it splits to meets the 4 diodes? a water proof solution.

The plug you need for the Saris Light Bar SA4426 is the Hopkins Endurance 4-Way Flat Trailer Connector Socket - Vehicle End # HM48030. While we do not have any harnesses that measure 5 feet long, this one is the closest (4 feet long). This plug comes with a weatherproof, insulated lid that covers the terminals. For waterproofing at the wiring points, I recommend the heat shrink connectors # DW05745-5.
From checking your past orders from us, you purchased the Swagman Chinook # S64683 and the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # HR1400Z. It is important to note that both of these racks are not approved to use on a flat-towed vehicle. Also, the Saris Light Bar is not approved to work on these particular racks. Unfortunately, the Saris racks that are compatible with the light bar are not approved for flat-towed vehicles.
For a flat-towed vehicle rack, I recommend the Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches # Y36FR. The OnRamp comes with a 40-pound per-bike weight rating and comes with a construction that allows it to withstand the extra torque and force while on the rear of a flat-towed vehicle. Also, for a light kit, I recommend 2 of the Trailer Light Mounting Bracket for 6-1/2" Oval Trailer Lights, Steel # BK70BB along with the LED Light Kit for Draw-Tite, Tow Ready, Pro Series, and Rola Railed Cargo Carriers # 98174LED. This solution will require drilling into the rack itself. Also, you will not need the # HM48030 since the LEDs already come with a 4-way.
