Yes, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C23FR you referenced is a compatible fit for your 2021 Ford Escape Hybrid. This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your Ford Escape's frame with no drilling or welding required. The gloss black powder coat finish over protective base coat offers superior rust resistance.
If you plan on towing a trailer you'll also need a trailer wiring harness to send your braking and turn signals from your Escape to the lights on your trailer. For this I recommend the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # TE54FR.
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located in the rear cargo area. You will have to remove the rear threshold plate, privacy screen, storage covers, and floor covering and partially remove the rear interior trim panels to access this harness.
Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector can be mounted to the hitch crossmember using parts # 18140 and # 18144.
For a ball mount kit I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. This kit comes with a 1-7/8" hitch ball as well as a 2" hitch ball to allow you to tow multiple trailers. Its two shanks have a rise of either 1" or 3" and a drop of 2" or 4" to ensure your trailer rides level while you tow.
