Parts Needed to Convert Drum Brake Surge Trailer to Electric Over Hydraulic
Question:
Hello, I have my boat on a dual axle ezloader trailer with drum brakes. I would like to convert the hydraulic surge system to an electric over hydraulic. I assume I need the hydrastar hydraulic controller, probably a new coupler, and a breakaway system/battery. What else am I missing? Can you recommend the correct parts? Let me know if you need more info on the trailer. Thanks.

The best place to start for converting a surge drum brake setup to an electric over hydraulic is with the Hydrastar kit part # HS381-9066 which comes with the actuator, a breakaway kit, and all the electrical components you need for the conversion.
You will also need a new coupler too but you'll need to know a bit more info to pick that out. We need to know the width of the frame channel the coupler mounts to and the hitch ball size you use as well. With that info you can either get back to me with it or you can check out the attached link to this page that has all of the couplers we offer and you can select from the filters what you need.
