Why Is There No Purple Wire On The 7 Way Plug Included With The ETBC7 Installation Kit?

I have a 2014 Jeep JK. My ETBC7 did not come with a purple wire, but I do have an extra yellow wire and it’s the thicker gauge wire. Is it supposed to be the purple wire?

Though it can be a little confusing, a lot of the 7 Way plugs that piggyback off a 4 Flat do use a yellow wire instead of purple for the reverse light/auxiliary port. The 7 Way included in the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 is one that uses the yellow colored wire due to this. As this is still the auxiliary port, it can also be used for 12 volt accessories so it is typically a heavier gauge wire. If you were not going to be attaching this to a reverse light or using for some other purpose, you can just wrap it with electrical tape to seal it off.
